Echoes Of A Summer (1976)

Jodie Foster gives a powerful performance in this 1976 drama by Don Taylor. Jodie plays the role of eleven-year-old Deirdre, who suffers from an incurable heart trouble. After trying to get help from every corner for about two years, Deirdre's parents decide to move to Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia to help her live her last days peacefully. Joined by a funny little boy from their neighborhood, the family manages to give Deirdre a beautiful 12'th Birthday celebration (which will be her last birthday). The movie is filled with scenes which will give the viewers a roller-coaster ride through moments of laughter & heartbreaking emotions.

My rating for the movie : ♞♞♞♞♞♞♞♘♘♘ ( 7/10 )

  2. Thank you so much for visiting my blog Ms Connie :) And yes the movie is very good. You would love the conversations that the little girl has with her father.

In one scene, a doctor visits the dying girl and while he is preparing to leave, he says her "you're a tough kid" and the girl replies "you gotta be in this business" and then the doctor asks "what business" and then she replies "dying". - there are some nice dialogues like this throughout the movie.

I will be glad to know what you think about the movie when you watch it.

Thanks once again to you for leaving your wonderful comment.
